The “11th International Workshop on Inorganic and Organic Electroluminescence” will be held at Ghent University in Ghent, Belgium from September 23d to 26th, 2002 jointly with the “2002 International Conference on the Science and Technology of Emissive Displays and Lighting”.

EL2002 is a continuation of the series of workshops held in Liège, Belgium (1980); Bad Stuer, GDR (1983); Warm Springs, USA (1986); Tottori, Japan (1988); Helsinki, Finland (1990); El Paso, USA (1992); Beijing, China (1994); Berlin, Germany (1996); Bend, USA (1998) and Hamamatsu, Japan (2000). The annual “Display Phosphors Conference” was first held in San Diego, USA in 1995 and expanded its subject in 2001 as reflected in the new title.

The aim of the workshop is to present a forum for discussing scientific and engineering aspects of organic and inorganic electroluminescence and of photo- and cathodoluminescence of phosphor materials.

The workshop covers all aspects of basic and applied research on electro- photo- and cathodoluminescensce. In particular the following subjects will be addressed:
