Module Design Simulator

A programme to calculate the efficiency of a series integrated thin film solar module, given the parameters of a single cell and the parameters of the series integration

Developed at ELIS, University of Gent

The programme implements the algorithm outlined in:

M. Burgelman and A. Niemegeers, "Calculation of CIS and CdTe module efficiencies", Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 51, 129-143, 1998

This programme has a graphical users interface and runs under PC-Windows (3.11 and higher). The programme is available for university users. Please contact Marc Burgelman at his e-mail address burgelman@elis.rug.ac.be

This model is enhanced to include also the climatological illumination conditions. This is described in:

M. Burgelman and A. Niemegeers, "Influence of illumination conditions on the design of thin film modules", Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 57, 85-95, 1999

The users programme implementing this is also available. Please contact Marc Burgelman at his e-mail address burgelman@elis.rug.ac.be
